Activity plans are key to your success in this course as well as the profession. As such you will be completing 3 of them throughout the semester. Each are explained below.
Exercise Activity Plans (#1 & #2)
Activity plans are due prior to your Activity Day Leadership Exercise #1 and the Special Event Day Leadership Exercise #2. See the schedule for the due dates.
Individual Activity Plan
individual student will develop an activity plan. The following parameters
should be adhered to:
Activities should cover 1-2 hours
Ages and number of participants are up to the student
There should be a minimum of 6 activities. The activities should all come from the activities journal webpage.
Activities should take place all in one location, ie. a rec center.
Be sure to plan extra activities and account for weather if the activities are outside.
Activities should be appropriate for a professional setting
Include 1 goal and 2 objectives. Click here for sample goals and objectives.
All plans should be typed on the appropriate form
* Here is a
to give you an idea what they should look like
* You will not be required to lead the activities in this plan.
* Once the plans are graded, you will make the appropriate changes & submit them electronically to Dr. Hurd. These plans will then be used for activity journals by your classmates.
Tips on completing activity plans
Think about the amount of time that an activity will take. In an hour, only having 2 activities is probably insufficient...depending on the activities.
Plan extra activities
Include enough details so that someone else in your group could pick up the plan and run the activities
The goals & objectives portion of the activity plan causes some problems. Click here for sample goals and objectives.
