Program OverviewGoals and Objectives / Sequence of Courses The Dietetic Internship program at Illinois State University
is a 21-month experience offered in conjunction with a Master
of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Application
to the Graduate Program is required following
matching into the Dietetic Internship. The program consists
of 33* hours of graduate coursework which includes a minimum
of **1321 hours of supervised practice - approximately 480 hours
of clinical nutrition, approximately 384 hours of food service
management, approximately 400 hours of community nutrition,
25 hours from the Advanced Medical Nutrition Therapy course,
and 32 hours from the Graduate Seminar course. The program
also includes a 15 hour orientation program. New Concentration! In accordance with the 2008 Eligibility Requirements and Accreditation Standards, the Dietetic Internship at Illinois State University will no longer have a ‘General’ Emphasis. The internship has been approved for one concentration area entitled “Leadership and Project Management.” The corresponding competencies for the new concentration area include:
