Course Description:

In-depth analysis of disabilities and impact on therapeutic recreation intervention.

Course Overview:

The selection of effective therapeutic recreation interventions requires in-depth understanding of disabilities, including but not limited to, prevalence, etiology, biopsychosocial implications, pharmacology, assistive or adaptive equipment, and contraindications for recreation and leisure participation. Competencies gained in this course correspond with the national job analysis conducted by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
