The following represents the only opportunity you have
to earn extra credit points in KNR 282.
You can receive up to 1 (one) percentage point towards
your final grade in the class by completing the following
web-based assignment. A maximum of two extra points
may be earned.
1) Locate a web site that is related to a specific topic
that we
cover in KNR 282.
2) Using email (no other submission form is acceptable), send
me the URL of the web site. When I click on the URL, I must
be taken directly to the relevant web site or you receive no point.
Also, in the body of your email to me, address the following:
a) what specific topic covered in
class does the site relate to
b) usefulness of the site (ie: great graphics, very clear
explanation of the concept, vivid example of
the concept).
Note: you may also find that some web sites
present
material with errors. Pointing these out may
replace the
"usefulness" of the site as a basis
for your selection.
The subject heading of your email MUST read
282fall09 (this stands for 282, fall 09),
with no spaces between any of the characters. This heading is
required so that it gets properly routed in my mailbox.
NO
EXCEPTIONS. Without the heading, the email goes to my
general mailbox and you will not receive any credit.
In addition, you MUST add your name, the date and your section number
to the body of the email. Not all emails automatically provide me with the
sender's
name, so without you typing the information in the body of the email I will
not know who you are.
Timeline: The first submission must be sent BEFORE
midnight, September 22, 2009; the second submission must
be sent BEFORE midnight, November 19, 2009. Early submissions are welcomed,
late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances. No exceptions.
I grade the submissions as my time allows. If you send it correctly, and
it gets to my mailbox, you will eventually receive the credit point for the
submitted website if the guidelines are followed exactly. Keep my email
response as acknowledgement
of my receipt of your submission.
Note: There is a possibility that I will offer additional opportunities for
Extra Credit during the semester.
These could include identifying photographs posted on the web page,
participation in research projects,
or other opportunities I deem worthwhile. Check the web page for these
opportunities.
